Brevard Zoo: Boo at the Zoo and Beware the Night

The zoo runs two Halloween events this year, both described on its Boo and Beware page.

  • Boo at the Zoo, every Saturday and Sunday in October, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trick-or-treating at themed stations, Halloween decorations for photos and daily performances. It is included with daytime zoo admission. The zoo asks families to bring a reusable bag for treats.
  • Beware the Night, select nights in September and October, 7 to 10 p.m. Dimly lit paths, glowing jack-o-lanterns and fog. It is a separate ticket from zoo admission, held outside normal hours. The zoo calls it family-friendly for all ages, with some darker areas.
  • River’s Revenge, on Fridays and Saturdays in October only, is an optional scare trail with jump scares and mazes, included with a Beware the Night ticket on those nights. The zoo’s FAQ recommends it for guests 13 and older. Check in at the main entrance for a handstamp, then go to Gate 3 in the North Parking Lot; final admission is 9 p.m.
  • The zoo’s sensory-friendly Boo at the Zoo (Oct. 17) and Haunted Harvest Brunch (Oct. 25) are past.
  • The zoo’s page says Beware the Night tickets start at $33, and children under 3 are free. It does not list which of the remaining nights are open; check the ticket link on the Beware the Night page or call the zoo at 321-254-9453.

Costume rules from the zoo: family-friendly costumes only, no masks for guests 13 and older and no real or replica weapons. Both events run rain or shine.

The city’s Halloween events

The City of Melbourne’s free Halloween Spooktacular Indoor Trick or Treat was 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Melbourne Auditorium, and is now past.

The city’s Adult Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt at the Crane Community Center was Friday, Oct. 16, and is now past.

Downtown Melbourne

Melbourne Square mall

The mall at 1700 W. New Haven Ave. holds a Candy Crawl from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Children in costume trick-or-treat at participating stores indoors; candy is available while supplies last. The mall says costumes are encouraged but face masks are not permitted.

Trunk-or-treats and the Eau Gallie Arts District

Church and Scout trunk-or-treats with 2026 dates are listed on our trick-or-treat hours page. Last year the Eau Gallie Arts District and Verdi EcoSchool held Halloween in the District on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, with trick-or-treating along Highland Avenue, hayrides, a costume contest and a movie under the stars. EGAD’s page still showed only the 2025 event on Oct. 26, and we found no 2026 date.

Pumpkin patches and fall festivals are on our fall festivals and pumpkin patches guide.
